Frequently asked questions

Yes. This is a component turntable. Use a receiver or amplifier with a moving-magnet phono input, or connect through an external phono preamp to your amplifier and speakers. It can also pair with an Andover-One SB speaker base. Audio equipment is sold separately.
Moving the tonearm over the record starts the platter. Optical sensors stop it when the side finishes, without adding a mechanical linkage to the arm. You lower the stylus and return the tonearm manually.
It supports 33⅓, 45, and 78 RPM with digitally regulated direct drive. To play shellac 78s, use a suitable 78 RPM stylus or cartridge; the supplied elliptical stylus is intended for standard LPs and singles.
An Audio-Technica AT-VM520xEB moving-magnet cartridge is factory-installed. The SME-style twist-lock headshell is removable, and the tonearm accepts cartridges weighing 2.5–6.2 g. Tracking force, anti-skating, and vertical tracking angle are adjustable, and compatible VMx replacement styli offer an upgrade path.
The turntable measures 16.5 inches wide × 4.9 inches high × 14 inches deep and weighs 12.8 lb (5.8 kg). Allow extra space to open the included hinged dustcover. Adjustable rubber feet help you level it on a stable surface; the damped cast-aluminum platter and silicone mat help reduce resonance.
