At Record Roots, everything we design starts with a simple idea. Records deserve to be handled well, stored properly, and displayed in a way that reflects the music inside.
We work with collectors every day. We see what people are spinning, what they are hunting for, and what keeps finding its way back onto the turntable during listening sessions. That perspective led us to a new project.

What Is a Vinyl Drop?
Every two weeks we release a small, carefully curated selection of records on the Record Roots website.
Each drop includes six records built around a specific theme. These themes highlight scenes, genres, and eras that collectors continue to rediscover and explore.
Instead of listing hundreds of titles, we focus on a tight, intentional selection that reflects the kind of records collectors actually enjoy digging into.
You might see themes like:
- Japanese Funk
- Turkish Psych Rock
- Brazilian Jazz
- Nigerian Funk
- Deep Soul Re-issues
- Modern Psychedelic
Some drops will spotlight deep grooves from specific regions. Others will focus on overlooked reissues or modern records carrying forward classic sounds.
Every drop is designed to be small, focused, and worth exploring.
Our Promise: Only Interesting Records
The goal of the Vinyl Drop is not to sell the same records you can find everywhere else.
If a title is sitting in the music section at your local grocery store you will not see it in our drops.
We are intentionally looking beyond the obvious. The focus is on records that collectors might discover while digging through a well curated record shop, not the standard mass retail titles.
That means deeper catalogs, overlooked recordings, global scenes, and reissues that deserve attention.

Each record includes a short curator note explaining why it was selected.
Sometimes it is about a standout rhythm section. Sometimes it is an influential recording session. Sometimes it is simply a record that keeps finding its way back onto the turntable.
The goal is not to overwhelm collectors with options. It is to highlight records that are genuinely worth spending time with.

A New Drop Every Two Weeks
The Vinyl Drop refreshes every two weeks with a new theme and six new records.
Some drops will lean toward classic grooves from around the world. Others will spotlight modern artists continuing the traditions that collectors appreciate.
The idea is simple:
Six interesting records. Every two weeks.
